Buildings & Grounds Location(s) Position Reports to - Chief Financial Officer/CSBO Exemption Status Exempt Position Summary Provide administrative and managerial supervision of the District's Building and Grounds Department.
Responsible to the CFO/CSBO for providing a physical learning environment that is clean, safe, well-maintained, attractive, and functions smoothly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities % of Time Essential Duties Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with building and grounds employees and district staff.
Recommend appropriate custodial and maintenance staffing levels.
Model and promote a service mentality among buildings and grounds employees.
Update and maintain the preventive maintenance program for buildings, equipment and vehicles.
Remain current with facility management methodologies.
Prioritize work orders.
Assist in developing annual budget for building and site maintenance, modifications, equipment, services and supplies.
Provide information for the Five-Year Financial plan as needed.
Maintain a ten-year Capital Investment Plan.
Attend board of education meetings on an as needed basis.
Evaluate personnel as deemed necessary by Human Resources.
Ensure district compliance with state and federal regulations relative to programs including but not limited to:
the Clean Air Act, A.

E.
R.
A.
, and Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Life Safety Code.
Work with District administrators to oversee an Energy Management Program and to establish accountability for utility use and conservation following district policies.
Maintain all utility service consumption records and data.
Maintain District building rental program; establishes fees under guidance of Board of Education, ensures set up and clean of facilities, and ensures fees collected.
Provide construction and project management on an as needed basis.
Implement an ongoing in-service program for Buildings and Grounds staff.
Direct purchasing and bid specification for building modifications, supplies, equipment and vehicles, and review and analyze bids and provide recommendations.
Coordinate construction projects and act as the district's liaison with architects, contract managers, and contractors.
Update and maintain district-wide fire alarm systems and energy conservation procedures.
Other duties that are deemed necessary from Superintendent or Chief Financial Officer/CSBO Non-Essential / Marginal Responsibilities % of Time Non-Essential Duties None Education and Experience Minimum 5 years' experience in a school buildings and grounds administration Experience in the Collective Bargaining process preferred Demonstrate Hands on experience with building automation systems including Metasys, Andover, and Automated Logic Comprehensive and broad knowledge of the principles and practices of a school district's building and grounds program, including operations, and federal and state laws, Clean Air laws and Energy Management.
Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of effective bid process.
Ability to plan, organize, and manage construction process.
Ability to communicate professionally with Board of Education, parents, school administrators and/or employees regarding concerns about building and grounds related issues.
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
