Entry Level Payroll Clerk

Summary/Objective
The payroll clerk processes payroll and performs accounting-related tasks.
Essential Functions
Prepares and inputs payroll data. Typically uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws, as well as local union requirements.
Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports as required.
Performs various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides general ledger support.
Assists with the onboarding of new employees and processing of terminated employees.
Supports the Human Resources Director and assists management employees.
Other duties as assigned.

General Requirements
Must have a valid driver's license with a good record. Drug screening required before hire. Must be self-driven with a professional appearance and outstanding work ethic.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
